The Story

Charleston, El Salvador, then Charleston again.

Howard Taylor grew up in Charleston — the kind of Charleston upbringing where you know your neighbors three blocks deep and recognize half the names on the court docket. He went to Charleston Day, then Woodberry Forest in Virginia, then UNC Chapel Hill. Plenty of paths from there led somewhere comfortable. He picked the harder one.

Right out of college, Howard joined the U.S. Peace Corps and spent two years in El Salvador. He came home fluent in Spanish and changed in a way that's harder to put on a résumé — with a real-world understanding of what it feels like to need help from a system that wasn't designed for you. That experience shapes how he practices law every day.

Howard earned his J.D. at the University of South Carolina in 2007 and joined his father at Taylor & Taylor in 2008. Today he splits his time between English and Spanish-speaking clients, runs the firm's Spanish-language practice at abogadotaylor.com, and has racked up results that include a $1M+ auto-accident case and a $205,000 recovery for a client rear-ended by a drunk driver.
